Nokia has recently announced a tie-up with Microsoft to provide Mobile Office service. Also, rumors are floating around that there may be more focus on Maemo than Symbian based platform for high end devices. All these have left me high and dry. I’m quite unclear as to where Nokia is headed.
On the other side, Samsung is inching towards Nokia’s niche market, and swaying more towards Android. Also they have started offering more CPU power for a lesser cost. I’m a big fan of Symbian. I don’t see any ground breaking development happening here as compared to Android or iphone. Nokia has to bring about some innovative changes to Symbian to reassure its fans. Its market share is already eroding with the rising number of cooler devices from its competition. Nokia wake up, start connecting with people, the polls you are conducting are good, but results need to be actionized. What’s Nokia’s future plan? What is the road map ahead? I hope the Nokia world event at Stuttgart, September 2-3, 2009 is the answer for all these questions.
